This recipe traditionally uses the more common orange sweet potatoes, but it is fantastic with Japanese murasaki sweet potatoes, as well. This dish is truly such a treat and so easy to prepare.

  • can (15 ounce) sweet potato puree – (fresh is better! use 1 large sweet potato or 2 small to equal 15 oz can)
  • 1/2 c. ricotta
  • 1 tsp. lemon zest
  • 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • Pinch nutmeg
  • Kosher salt
  • Round dumpling wrappers (about 15)
  • 2 tbsp. canola oil, optional, for frying
Sage Brown Butter
  • 4 tbsp. unsalted butter
  • sage leaves, finely chopped
  • 2 tsp. lemon juice
