Hi SLO Veg Family & Friends,

We’re bringing a little Southern-inspired goodness to your table this week with a harvest full of vibrant flavors, farm stories, and summer favorites.

We’re especially excited to share the first harvest of green tomatoes from Javier and Irma Martinon. While the red tomatoes are still on their way, we couldn’t wait to celebrate what’s ready now and share something special with you. Green tomatoes are a Southern classic—perfect for frying, grilling, pickling, or adding a bright, tangy twist to your favorite summer recipes. Sometimes the most memorable flavors come from embracing the season as it unfolds.

The Martinon family harvest continues to grow, and we’re looking forward to upcoming treasures from Frank Martinon, including cherry tomatoes, lemon cucumbers, and chard. These crops are just beginning to make their appearance, and we’re excited to share them with you as they reach their peak.

Over at Costa May Farms, the summer pepper harvest is underway with an incredible variety of peppers now coming in, along with beautiful purple and Walla Walla onions. We’re also excited to welcome the first bell peppers of the season this week—bringing even more color, flavor, and inspiration to your summer cooking.

There’s so much to look forward to as the season continues. From sweet summer fruits to crisp vegetables and colorful harvests, we’re celebrating the farmers and fields that bring these special ingredients to your table.

We’re also thrilled to welcome a new pasta from Etto this week. Stay tuned as we introduce this delicious addition and share ideas for pairing it with the fresh flavors of the season.

Thank you for being part of our farm community and for joining us in celebrating the beauty of each harvest. We hope this week’s selections inspire you to cook, gather, and enjoy a true taste of summer—Southern style.

With gratitude,

Rachael & SLO Veg Team 💚
