It’s been a busy week for our SLO Veg family! As many of you know, this time of year is constantly changing in the fields. We sometimes have to wait until the very last minute for our farmers to confirm what’s ready to harvest, which can make planning each week’s boxes a little exciting behind the scenes. But that’s also the beauty of eating with the seasons—you’re receiving produce that’s harvested when nature says it’s ready, not a moment before.

One of the highlights of my week wasn’t in the warehouse or the fields—it was spending time on the phone with a couple of our longtime subscribers on Friday. Those conversations truly filled my heart. Hearing your stories, your excitement about the harvest, and the kind words you share about SLO Veg reminds me why I started this journey 17 years ago. Knowing that so many of you have invited us to be part of your weekly meals for years is something I never take for granted.

I also have to say… I’m absolutely loving everything that’s arriving in our summer harvest boxes! Every week seems to bring another delicious surprise from our local farmers, and I can’t wait to share them with you.

As our harvests continue to grow, I also want to remind you that your box can grow with you. If there are fruits or vegetables you absolutely love—or a few you’d rather not receive—we’re always happy to customize your harvest. Simply send us an email with the items you’d like us to avoid and whether you’d prefer more fruits, more vegetables, or a little of both. My goal is simple: I want every box you open to be filled with foods you’re excited to cook and enjoy.

People often tell me that opening their SLO Veg box feels like Christmas on their doorstep each week. I have to smile because I feel the very same way whenever I receive an email from one of you sharing your excitement, your recipes, your photos, or simply letting me know how much you enjoy our service. Those messages are gifts to me. They encourage me, inspire me, and remind me that what we’re building together is about so much more than delivering produce.
