If you’ve been staying tuned with us through either our newsletters, or through our Instagram (@sloveg), you probably know about the donation program that we’ve organized to sponsor local families and a number of houseless members this Holiday Season. We just wanted to reach out and say thank you! In the past few weeks, you and local businesses we’ve partnered with over the years have helped us raise nearly $2000. Our goal is to raise $3000+. Thank you for your dedication and generosity, we’ve been able to add five more children to outfit with gifts and much needed essentials. Our dedicated team here at SLO Veg is so beyond thankful and grateful for you all.
This week we’re encouraging everyone to share a little or a lot ~ Every little bit counts! We’re thrilled to have raised as much as we have, and have added even more kiddo’s to the mix. This week will be your final opportunity to donate if you haven’t already! The donation tab is located online once you log in to your account. Select the Market button in your account, then select one of the Christmas Donation Tabs, here you can select your preferred donation amount. Please know that your contributions are helping to spread warmth and love to every corner of this community, we couldn’t be more pleased to be blessed with such amazing customers, partners, and farmers.
“Together” We Will Share Our Love For Our Community
Happy holidays friends and families. Our SLO Veg family is gifting a number of local families in SLO County who are in need a lot of extra love, support, and kindness. Our gifts will include fruit and veggie baskets with additional gift certificates for future deliveries, gifted signature marketplace items, along with wish list Christmas gifts for their families. We have collaborated with “Mama Gina’s Closet” and set up an opportunity for our customers to provide donations to help us support various families this holiday season.
For those who are unfamiliar, Mama Gina’s Closet is run by one of our team members at SLO Veg, Gina! Gina is passionate about giving back to our community. She started her own ministry six years ago, and is now coordinating an outreach program for SLO Veg. Mama Gina’s Closet is her way of networking and collaborating with local businesses to give love and support to those who need it. She has spearheaded this donation initiative and has helped us select five families and additional community members to sponsor with your donations.
Each of the families have endured huge economic and/or physical and mental health challenges due to the pandemic and unforeseen circumstances that have come with 2020. We want to demonstrate the love and compassion that this community has to offer and, with that, the team at SLO Veg is working diligently to ensure this Christmas still feels special for these families despite their current circumstance.
Families we’re gifting together
The first family is a family of six. They have two boys aged five and two, and two girls aged seven and nine. Their kids love playing sports outside and roller-skating. Our second family is a family of three. The mother is currently working to provide for her two daughters aged twelve and nineteen. Her kids are big fans of music and doing makeup. The third family is a household of four, the mother and father are both working to raise their son, age ten and their daughter, age two. Their daughter loves to play with learning games and their son is a huge fan of LEGOS. Our fourth family is a family of three, a mother, father and their son, age twenty-one. Lastly, we are supporting a sponsor of our homeless community outreach here in SLO. He will be donating warm clothes to community members in need. The holidays are all about togetherness and we want to share our love and acknowledgement to those who are not able to access their families at this time.
If you are interested in donating, you can log in to your account, go to our SLO Veg Marketplace and donate your preferred amount. Look for the Christmas donation tabs, there are options to donate $25-$150+. We have collected the wish-lists of these families and will be putting the proceeds towards essential hygiene products, warm clothing, and toys for the children. If you’d like to purchase gifts to share and set out on your delivery day, we’d love to pick them up this coming week. We welcome drop off’s at our warehouse in SLO as well Monday – Friday.

We’re Blessed By You…
This year is our ninth year in business and we want to express how grateful we are for each and every one of you. One of the challenges that the Pandemic has presented in the last year has been difficulty in planning for the future. Many of us, here and across the globe, have had to put existing plans on hold and redirect our attention towards the things and the people that we have right now. As we have turned our attention to those who have helped build this business, our hearts have flooded with overwhelming feelings of gratitude and appreciation for you. It’s astonishing to think about all the incredible connections, friendships, and opportunities we’ve been presented with in the past years, all due to a little box of veggies.
Thinking back to when we were just getting started, there was no way to prepare us for the degree of love and support that we’d receive from this community. Our business is our passion, and it has been an honor to share it with you. Thank you so much! We’re so excited to continue to grow and further serve SLO county.
To celebrate each of you, we offer a referral program that benefits both you and your friends! Our sign-up system offers new subscribers an opportunity to tell us how they heard about SLO Veg upon beginning their subscription. If you tell your friends to sign up and have them mention you as their referral, we will credit your account, and your friend’s account with $10 to spend towards SLO Veg products and offerings. This could be used towards a future box purchase or it could be used to buy some of our Marketplace offerings such as coffee, fresh sourdough, infused oils and vinegars and so much more. So, get out there and talk us up! We’ve so deeply appreciated your loyalty to us in the last nine years and are looking forward to meeting your friends. When signing up enter promo code: friends20
