Hi Friends and Families,
Thank you for your continued support of SLO Veg. We love serving you! We’re grateful to have a number of local farmers who are still able to produce harvests this week. It’s been very difficult for many of our farmers the past few months with the change in weather. Many of our farmers have lost large acres of crops due to recent frost, hot & cold temps, shorter days, and excess rain. They will not recoup their time, efforts, and money spent with the promise of return to support their livelihoods.
On average it takes 45-60 days to grow vegetables from seed to harvest. SLO Veg is doing everything we can to help their families feed our community. It takes a lot of love, support, and a village! ❤
This past week we took a trip to the grocery store to view the price increases of produce. WOW ~ everything has exponentially skyrocketed! For example, 1 head of cauliflower $4.99, 1 head of lettuce $3.50, carrot bunch $4. The list is way to long to share. The fact that it’s not local either, no thank you!
Please…help us support our local farmers here on the Central Coast. Our weekly farm boxes are a great way to get connected to your local farmers and establish a relationship with where your food comes from. Know Your Farmer = Know Your Food!
In the spirit of giving, whether you’re a new subscriber, returning subscriber that’s placed a hold, we’re offering you $10 off your next order. Use promo code: supportlocalfarmers22
We wish everyone a healthy and happy weekend. Thank you for your valued support. Kindly, Your dedicated SLO Veg Team
