Hi SLO Veg Family & Friends 🌿

Happy weekend! We’re so excited to welcome the very first harvests of fresh yellow summer squash, zucchini, and Mexican gray squash from Javier & Irma with Martinon Farms. These first tender squash of the season are always such a treat and one of those signs that summer is beginning to settle in beautifully here on the Central Coast.

There are so many simple ways to enjoy them — toss them on the grill with olive oil and sea salt, sauté them lightly with garlic, shave them raw into salads, roast them until caramelized, or spiral them into fresh zoodles. We’re also receiving beautiful Italian parsley this week, perfect for making fresh chimichurri sauce to spoon over grilled veggies like leeks, squash, and crisp Cincinnati radishes — or top your fresh fish, chicken, beef, or pork, it’s so delicious!

And speaking of fresh fish… it’s officially salmon season here on the coast! We’re excited to offer beautiful fresh Coho salmon, rich, flavorful, and absolutely perfect for summer meals. Grill it simply with lemon and herbs, top it with chimichurri, or pair it alongside your fresh harvest veggies for an easy and delicious dinner.

And don’t miss the fresh spinach this week — absolutely perfect paired with sweet strawberries from Frank with MG Farms for a bright, beautiful salad that tastes like spring turning into summer.

We’ll share a few fresh recipe ideas on Tuesday to help inspire your meals this week, and as always, our marketplace is stocked with additional seasonal goodies to help you customize your harvest just the way you like it.

Wishing you all a relaxing weekend filled with sunshine, fresh food, and simple moments around the table 💚

With gratitude,
Rachael & the SLO Veg Team 🌿
