Our SLO Veg Labor of Love “Food with Thought” by Charley Bottino – Our SLO Veg Foodie Writer
Labor Day signifies the contributions of all the hard work we’ve accomplished the past year. It’s also the unofficial end of Summer, but as the season winds down SLO Veg will have plenty of Summer yields to carry us into the transition of Fall. This is a great opportunity to give thanks to all of our farmers, that day in and day out tirelessly, ensure we have amazing fruits and veggies to place on your tables. So, dig into some fresh watermelon and throw those veggies on the grill as we celebrate the last days of summer with recognition of another year’s bountiful harvest.
Happy Labor Day friends and families. Thank you for your support ~ We Love It!

We believe mother ocean has created an abundant, nutritious food source that we’d love to share with you. Our seaweed is sustainably wild harvested by hand at low tide and carefully dried in the sun. It is then meticulously packaged using the highest sanitation standards, and offered to our community with love.  Seaweed is an abundant and highly nutritious food source that needs no fertilizers, pesticides, or fresh water to grow.

Fresh and Delicious Fish This Week!

Monday Fish: Swordfish or Local Halibut Fillets
Swordfish has a subtle sweet flavor, and the meat remains consistently moist even after cooking. Due to its meaty characteristic, Swordfish is most ideal for either broiling or grilling.

Tuesday – Friday Fish: Local Halibut Fillets
Halibut has a gentle flavor that resembles the sweet taste of crab or clam. Compared to other fish, halibut is most similar to mild white fish like Flounder and Tilapia. Halibut is a great choice for people who don’t usually eat fish, and it absorbs seasoning exceptionally well. Halibut is delicious baked, grilled, poached, or broiled.
