Fresh & Local Earth Day Harvests

April 22-25, 2025

At SLO Veg, Earth Day isn’t just a date on the calendar—it’s a celebration of everything we stand for. Since day one, our mission has been to support our local farmers, reduce waste, and connect our community with the freshest, most responsibly grown produce on the Central Coast. We partner directly with small family farms that care deeply about the land, practicing sustainable and organic growing methods that work with nature, not against it. By choosing local and seasonal, we cut down on long-distance shipping, lower our collective carbon footprint, and keep dollars flowing right back into our local economy. Every harvest box you open is a small act of love—for your health, for the farmers, and for the planet.

Earth Day, celebrated each year on April 22nd, is a reminder to care for this beautiful world we all share. It’s about conservation, sustainability, and taking steps—big and small—to protect the natural resources we depend on. And what better way to honor that than by enjoying food that’s grown with intention, just a few miles from your table?

This week’s early spring harvest is a beautiful reflection of the season and the values we share: crisp first harvest organic romaine lettuce, vibrant rainbow chard, sweet Monterey strawberries, and tender first-of-the-season Brussels sprouts. We’re also loving the juicy Melogold grapefruit, crunchy organic orange carrots, snappy English peas and sugar snap or snow peas, stunning Cincinnati fuchsia pink radishes, golden beets, organic Fuji apples, and flavorful spring green onions. It’s a box full of color, nutrition, and deep-rooted care—perfect for celebrating Earth Day with every bite. 🌱💚🌎
