Hi SLO Veg Family & Friends,

I wanted to personally reach out and share something a little different with you today.

On June 15th, SLO Veg turns 17 years old. Seventeen years! When I started this little business, I never imagined the incredible community that would grow from it. Some of you joined us along the way, and a number of you have been with us since our very first delivery day. Each and every one of you has helped make SLO Veg what it is today. For that, I am truly grateful.

Many of you know that we rarely take time off. In fact, over the years we’ve always found a way to work around holidays and family events by adjusting delivery schedules, combining routes, and squeezing a lot into a few days. This time, however, we’ve decided to do something we’ve never done before.

The week of June 16–19, 2026, SLO Veg will be closed, and there will be no deliveries that week.

The reason is simple. My family and I are heading to a family reunion vacation that has been on the calendar for quite some time. As I looked at the delivery schedule, with weekly, bi-weekly, and every-third-week subscribers all falling differently throughout the week, I realized that trying to fit an entire week’s worth of deliveries into just a few days beforehand wasn’t the best way to serve you. I never want to rush what we do or compromise the experience you’ve come to expect from us.

So for the very first time in 17 years, I’m giving myself, my family, and our hardworking SLO Veg team permission to take a full week to rest, reconnect, celebrate this milestone, and recharge.

This also felt like the perfect opportunity to share something new we’ve been working on. We’ve now added a Will Call option for everyone. Maybe you’d like a box during an off week along with stocking up on additional fruit, veggies, eggs, fish, artisan breads, coffee, or marketplace favorites. Maybe you simply want more flexibility. Whatever works best for your household, we’re happy to help make it happen.

One thing I’ve learned over the last 17 years is that no two families eat exactly the same way. That’s why I always encourage you to make your SLO Veg account your own. Customize your box. Change your size. Adjust your delivery frequency. Tell us what you love and what you’d rather skip. My goal has always been simple: to deliver a harvest box filled with foods you’re excited to receive and enjoy.

As I reflect on 17 years, my heart is full. Thank you for supporting our farmers, our family business, and our team. Thank you for your referrals, your encouragement, your feedback, and for inviting us to be part of your kitchens and family meals. The relationships we’ve built over the years are truly the best part of what we do.

We’ll be back the following week, refreshed, grateful, and excited to continue bringing you the very best of our local harvests.
