Spring Harvests March 10-13, 2026
 

Hi SLO Veg Family & Friends,

This Sunday we spring forward with Daylight Savings — and while we might feel that lost hour of sleep, our farmers are quietly celebrating the longer days ahead. Those extra hours of sunshine mean more light for leafy greens, herbs, and tender spring vegetables to grow strong and vibrant. Our farmers often begin their mornings before the sun rises and work until the last bit of light fades, so this shift in daylight brings a welcome rhythm to the fields. Soon the farms will be buzzing with even more life, growth, and abundance.

We’re beginning to see the first gentle signs of spring harvests. English peas, sugar snap and snow peas are starting to flower, and a few early snaps are already ready to pick. Before long, they’ll be arriving in your boxes — crisp, sweet, and full of that fresh spring flavor. Artichokes are also coming on beautifully, round and plentiful, signaling the return of one of our favorite seasonal treasures.

Our farmers are also preparing beds of spring onions and new lettuce varieties, including red and green leaf, romaine, red and green butter lettuce, and vibrant spinach. Many of these will be ready to harvest over the next couple of weeks. Next week we’ll enjoy one more round of red leaf before rotating into the other varieties — which always keeps things fun and seasonal. And I was lucky enough to find some beautiful red butter lettuce from Babe Farms for the coming week that you can add to your box in our marketplace.

I’d like to share a heartfelt thank you to everyone responding to our new box surveys that you receive after your delivery. Your feedback has been incredibly thoughtful and helpful. I truly read every response and take great care in selecting the best seasonal produce to fill your harvest boxes. It means so much to hear what you’re enjoying and how we can continue to serve you better. Please keep sharing your thoughts — they help us grow right along with our farmers.
